“精油乳化剂”是一种让精油能够均匀分散在水相中的辅助成分，因为精油本身是油类，不能直接溶于水（比如花水、纯露、喷雾、沐浴露等水性配方）。使用乳化剂后，可以避免精油浮在表面、无法均匀使用，也大大降低刺激皮肤的风险。

“Essential oil emulsifier” is an auxiliary ingredient that allows essential oils to be evenly dispersed in water-based products. Since essential oils are oil-based, they cannot dissolve directly in water (such as floral waters, hydrosols, sprays, or shower gels). By using an emulsifier, the essential oils can be properly mixed into the water phase, preventing them from floating on the surface, ensuring even distribution, and significantly reducing the risk of skin irritation.

乳化剂是一种帮助“油和水混合”的媒介。很多乳化剂是食品级或化妆品级别的原料，在护肤品、香水、洗发水、乳液等产品中非常常见，非常安全使用。反之如果你不加乳化剂，直接将精油滴进水里使用，才会有安全隐患。因为精油无法溶于水，浮在表面时容易集中刺激皮肤。

⚠️ 注意事项：

务必充分混合精油和乳化剂后，才加水，否则会造成分层。
不建议跳过乳化剂直接把精油加水，否则会造成皮肤刺激甚至灼伤。
对于婴幼儿、敏感肌肤，乳化比例应更高，或选择已稀释的安全配方。
某些喷雾中若使用比例过高，可能会出现混浊或变白，这是正常现象。

An emulsifier is an agent that helps oil and water blend together.
Many emulsifiers are food-grade or cosmetic-grade ingredients commonly used in skincare products, perfumes, shampoos, lotions, and more — and are considered very safe for use.

In contrast, if you skip the emulsifier and add essential oils directly into water, that’s when safety risks arise. Since essential oils are not water-soluble, they will float on the surface and may concentrate in one spot, causing irritation or even burns upon contact with the skin.

⚠️ Important Safety Notes:

Always thoroughly mix the essential oil with the emulsifier first, before adding any water. Otherwise, the mixture may separate.
Never skip the emulsifier when combining essential oils with water. Doing so can lead to skin irritation or burns.
For babies, children, or sensitive skin, a higher emulsifier-to-oil ratio is recommended, or use a pre-diluted formula.
If a water-based product (like a spray) appears cloudy or milky after emulsification, this is normal and does not affect safety or quality.
